Oh my goodness: it’s February already!
No doubt most of you are back at work, children are at school and a more regular weekly routine has come back into your life. I had a two week break over the Christmas/New Year period and it proved to be a great time to let my normal day job working routine go.
For me, I think the best thing about the break was to wake naturally each day rather than to an alarm clock. My activities varied each day, the ‘busyness’ eased and the calm increased. Things were done as to how I felt rather than controlled by the clock: it was lovely!
The year goes on however and I’m back in the Mon-Fri city work routine. It’s not all bad: I was actually looking forward to the interaction with my work colleagues. For me, and I’m sure you too, it’s the people I work with that makes my job enjoyable.
Do you make resolutions at the beginning of each new year?
I don’t however my daughter shared something she does each year and it has inspired me to do the same.
My daughter is currently living overseas on a 2 year working visa. At the beginning of last year she gave herself the word ‘brave’ as her guide for 2016. Whenever she was feeling a bit wobbly of how things were going, she would gently remind herself of her word and acknowledge to herself as to how brave she had already been.
I like the idea of the single word focus that can very simply help keep you on track and morph to guide you with all aspects of your life as the year goes on. Her word for this year is ‘gratitude’.
Having given it some thought, I have decided that my word for 2017 will be ‘opportunity’. What do you think your word would be?
Towards the end of last year, I shared with you my plans to add recommended resources to the Raw&Inspired website. Well thanks to some behind the scenes work by my lovely web designer, the new pages are now on the site for you to explore. I will continue to add to the pages as I discover new products and services that I personally use myself and are happy to recommend to you.
You will also see that I have a new page titled Essential Oils. I was fortunate to meet a beautiful lady last year who shared with me her own personal experiences using essential oils. Inspired to learn more I started using them myself on a regular basis and discovered firsthand how beneficial and life enhancing they are, particularly for the emotional uplift they can give.
If you’re interested in learning about essential oils I suggest you have a look at the new page. Going forward I’ll be sharing ways about how you can use essential oils in future blogs and posts on Instagram and facebook.
Until next time, wishing you a delicious day filled with love, laughter, happiness AND inspiring words.
