I recently had a weekend it was all about me. And I loved that it was!
Work and life have been busier than usually lately so it was time to focus on me exclusively for a change and do some of the things that make me feel good.
Friday had been a long physical and mentally tiring day so my ‘me’ weekend started as soon as I got home with a soak in the bath that I had dissolved Epsom salts into (high in magnesium to energise tired muscles). I lit some candles, put on some relaxing music and just lay in the bath for about a ½ hour soaking up the calm.
It was an easy dinner of an omelette with spinach, goats’ milk feta and sautéed mushrooms: delish. Cosy and comfy in my favourite PJs I watched a couple of TV shows whilst enjoying a chamomile tea and a few squares of dark chocolate as a special treat then off to bed feeling physically calm and relaxed.
Over the course of the weekend I indulged in a hour long yoga session, had breakfast at a café I had wanted to visit for awhile, had a wander around a few shops that I hadn’t been to before then visited a couple of plant nurseries to purchase some plants for the garden.
As you know, being in the garden is something I love so with, garden gloves on and tools in hand I set about tidying up and replanting my new seedlings. Several very enjoyable hours passed by and my garden was renovated and I was proud of my effort and the result. I can now look forward to seeing the plants blossom and bloom which is going to be a treat.
I think what I enjoyed most about my ‘me’ weekend was that it happened naturally without any great effort or organisation or timetable. I did the things that I wanted to and when.
Until next time, wishing you a delicious day filled with love, laughter, happiness AND plenty of self love!
